The paper critically examined the intersection between universal human rights principles, as outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), and the specific socio-cultural context of Bangladesh, exploring the conceptual distinctions between inherent and hard-won human rights. D. Workshops: 1. National Workshop with Academics on Teaching Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants Theme: International Criminal Law ? Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants Date: March 2023 Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh Participated in a national academic workshop focused on enhancing the teaching of International Criminal Law, with a specific emphasis on Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and Smuggling of Migrants (SOM). The workshop was organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and was led by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Bangladesh. The initiative was funded by the European Union (EU) as part of broader efforts to strengthen academic and institutional responses to human trafficking and migrant smuggling in line with international legal frameworks. 2. Teaching International Environmental Law in Asia (TRILA-IEL) Workshop Focus Area: International Environmental Law Organizer: Centre for International Law, National University of Singapore (NUS) Location: Singapore Year: 2025 Participated in the TRILA-IEL workshop aimed at strengthening the teaching and scholarship of international environmental law across Asian academic institutions. The program focused on pedagogy, curriculum development, and regional legal challenges in environmental governance. 3. Teaching and Researching International Human Rights Law in Asia (TRILA-HR) Workshop Focus Area: International Human Rights Law Organizer: Centre for International Law, National University of Singapore (NUS) Location: Singapore Year: 2023 Engaged in a specialized workshop on the teaching and research of international human rights law within Asian contexts.
